There's a good start! Work on developing that character: gender, personality, family, history, what he/or she does on a daily basis. And perhaps the hardest: a name.
Thanks for the speech... it was needed. It would be pretty cool if you drew fan art for my future story... I'd like that Yyeah, so now is the hard part,... inspiration and a plot... bleh. Today I was is Chapters/Starbucks again, and I was sitting in these really comfy chairs, but that's not the point... the point is that I people-watched, like you told me too, and I saw a 'book keeper', or someone who works at Chapters, and I watched her for a while and thought about a character in ancient Egypt that she could represent. I finally figured out that she would perfectly represent a Scribe, which is one of the only people in ancient Egypt that can read or write, and that maybe I could have my lower class character be a ancient Egyptian Scibe and his/her job would be to sort scroll and/or write or copy scrolls.
Other than that tiny character development, I haven't given much thought to the story, but I will, no worries, I DO want to try this! I'll update you once I think of something else interesting to say.
